Toronto, CAN – May 14, 2020 – Salute Mission Critical, a global data center services company, is expanding its partnership with Serverfarm, an innovative data center developer and operator. As a result of the deal, Salute is now providing vital, 7X24 facilities engineering services for Serverfarm’s facility in Toronto, Canada. The services company is also working to integrate Serverfarm’s innovative InCommand data center management system within its own Global Command Center, which it unveiled in February 2020.
These initiatives will ensure that despite the disruptions caused by COVID-19, Serverfarm and other partners relying on Salute can maintain data center uptime. Continuity is vital for businesses in need of mission-critical network connections to global cloud providers, internet exchanges and even each other. Recently, however, the data center industry has been facing unique challenges. Datacenter Knowledge reports that the surge in internet traffic as a result of COVID-19 countermeasures has required providers to add network bandwidth and computing power into their facilities – all while often reducing onsite staff. Salute solves this problem by offering a complete gamut of data center lifecycle services, including both rapid onsite deployments and remote hands management.
“We’re proud that Serverfarm has seen value in expanding our relationship to include supportive facilities management services for its Toronto data center,” says Jason Okroy, CEO and Co-Founder of Salute Mission Critical. “No matter what services we provide, our exceptionally trained data center specialists seamlessly integrate with our client’s ongoing processes and platforms to execute critical procedures with military precision. By eventually integrating InCommand within our Global Command Center, we will also have additional capabilities to leverage in helping our customers maintain uptime through any situation.”
“Partnering with Salute helps us to excel at our ongoing mission to be a leading, agile data center provider for our customers,” says Avner Papouchado, CEO of Serverfarm. “Salute’s team consistently demonstrates excellence in all that they do for us. We especially appreciate the high level of transparency and discipline they provide to us as they operate within our environment. Our team has found their skills to be so vital that, in some cases, we have transitioned Salute technicians into full-time employment with Serverfarm. We’re eager to replicate our joint successes at our Toronto facility and deliver vital uptime and efficiencies for our customers in that market.”
In addition to supporting data center uptime and business continuity, Salute also operates with a unique humanitarian purpose. The company works to transition military veterans, some of whom have dealt with stigma and chronic unemployment, into successful careers in the data center industry. Currently, Salute is experiencing significant growth, hiring and training new veterans to satisfy the growing demands of its customers. As unemployment rates continue to rise across the US and elsewhere in the world, this is a positive trend for an often-marginalized community.
