According to Restack.io’s report on Chicago’s AI start ups, AI firms have attracted $1.5 billion of investment in areas such as data science, natural language generation, healthcare and logistics since 2023.

Magnetar Capital, a $17.5 billion fund based in Evanston, Illinois recently finalized a $235 million venture fund for new generative AI companies in model, infrastructure, and application development. In addition, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Center for Applied AI Intelligence conducts advanced AI research.
